The arrests resulted from the execution of a search warrant on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at a residence in Norwalk located at 21 Osbourne Ave., Norwalk Police announced.
The warrant had been obtained following a long investigation conducted by the department's Special Services Division. During the search of the residence, authorities caught people within the home in the midst of packaging fentanyl and crack cocaine, police said.
Some of the items allegedly seized from the residence during the search included:
- 534 grams of crack cocaine packaged for street-level sale;
- 53 glassine folds of pure fentanyl packaged for street-level sale;
- 61.8 grams of MDNA/Ecstacy pills;
- Around 542 grams of marijuana packaged for street-level sale;
- Four quarter sticks of dynamite;
- A stolen .40 caliber loaded handgun with an extended magazine;
- A fully automatic loaded 10-millimeter handgun.
The four suspects arrested during the search were:
- Norwalk resident Samuel Branch, age 25, who was held on a $1 million bond in addition to a $50,000 bond served for motor vehicle charges;
- Norwalk resident Jermaine Joseph, age 21, who was held on a $500,000 bond;
- Norwalk resident Javon Coleman, age 22, who was held on a $250,000 bond;
- Norwalk resident Dontae Scullark, age 20, who was held on a $350,000 bond.
All four now face drug charges, including possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit/sale of a narcotic substance. Additionally, Branch and Joseph also face firearm charges as well, police said.
In a statement, Norwalk Police Chief James Walsh thanked residents who gave tips leading up to the search.
"I commend the work of the Social Services Division and thank the members of the community who provided information about the criminal activity occurring in this area," Walsh said.
